Every Mud Kitchen Expert kitchen is made to order in solid spruce, so you choose the width (120 or 150 cm), whether it has an open shelf or a storage cabinet, one of eleven hand-painted exterior colours, and a Natural Wood or Brown worktop. There is no charge for any colour. Your kitchen is built and painted for you, then delivered fully assembled anywhere on the UK mainland in 7 to 14 days, from £499.
“Custom mud kitchen” usually means one of two things. Either you want a kitchen built to your choices rather than pulled off a shelf, or you want something bespoke that no catalogue offers. We do the first properly, and we are honest below about the limits of the second.

How made-to-order works
Nothing is painted until you order. Your kitchen is cut and sanded in solid spruce, the sinks and burners fitted, then it is hand-painted in your colour with an exterior acrylic and checked before it leaves. It travels fully assembled on a pallet by kerbside courier, tracked, free to the UK mainland, and arrives 7 to 14 days after ordering. There is no flat-pack, no bag of screws and no lost afternoon. Personalising it once it arrives
Families ask about names and signs more than anything else. We do not engrave or add name plaques, and we would rather say so than invent a service. What works well, and costs almost nothing, is a small chalkboard or slate sign hung from the utensil rail with the child’s “cafe” name on it, which they will change weekly. A set of enamel mugs, a couple of wooden spoons and a planter of herbs beside the kitchen do more for ownership than a printed name ever did. Our accessories guide lists what actually gets used.
For nurseries, childminders and schools
Settings often want a colour that matches a scheme, or two kitchens in the same finish for two groups. Because every kitchen is painted to order, that is simply a matter of choosing the same swatch twice. What we do not do, honestly
- Non-standard widths. Every kitchen is 120 or 150 cm. Anything narrower loses the second sink; anything wider does not fit a pallet.
- Custom paint colours. Eleven colours cover everything from Powder Pink to Bottle Green; mixing to a code would slow every order down.
- A plumbed tap. None of our kitchens has one, and our tap page explains why a jug and two lift-out sinks work better.
- Engraving or name plaques. See above for what works instead.

Can I get a mud kitchen in a custom colour?
You choose from eleven hand-painted exterior colours, all at the same price. We do not mix to a paint code, but the range runs from Powder Pink and Fresh Mint to Bottle Green, Stormy Evening and Grey Elegance, and the swatches are on our colours page.
Can you personalise a mud kitchen with a name?
We do not engrave or add plaques. A chalkboard sign on the utensil rail does the same job, costs a few pounds, and lets the child rename their cafe as often as they like.
How long does a made-to-order mud kitchen take?

Can you make a mud kitchen to my own size?
No. Every kitchen is 120 or 150 cm wide. Those two widths are the ones that give two real sinks and still travel assembled on a pallet.
