What are your mud kitchens made from?
Every kitchen is handcrafted from top-quality solid spruce, sanded smooth so it is splinter-free and safe for small hands. We never use chipboard or MDF, which swell and fail outdoors.
What paint do you use? Is it safe for children?
We use specialist acrylic wood paints designed for outdoor use. They are weatherproof, non-toxic and safe for children aged 3 and up, applied by hand in our workshop.
Are the mud kitchens weatherproof?
Yes. Solid spruce and outdoor-grade acrylic finishes are made for the British climate and can stay outside all year. For the longest life we recommend the fitted protective cover in winter, and a fresh coat of wood care every year or two.
What age range are mud kitchens suitable for?
They are designed for children aged 3 and up, with worktop heights that suit toddlers through to primary-school age. Young children should always be supervised during play.
How long does delivery take?
Each kitchen is handcrafted to order and delivered within 7 to 14 days, tracked and fully insured, free anywhere on the UK mainland. It arrives fully assembled on a pallet, ready to play.
Do you deliver to Northern Ireland, the Highlands or the Islands?
Yes, though these addresses may carry a small surcharge. Email sales@mudkitchenexpert.co.uk before ordering and we will quote you exactly.
Does the kitchen need assembly?
No. Every kitchen arrives fully assembled on a pallet. Lift it off, stand it where the mud is, and the play can start the same day.
What colours can I choose from?
Eleven hand-painted colours, from Bottle Green and Deep Navy to Powder Pink and Fresh Mint. Pick your colour on each product page and the photos update so you can see exactly what arrives.
Can I return a mud kitchen?
Yes. You have 14 days from the day after delivery to request a return. The kitchen needs to be unused and in its original condition. Email sales@mudkitchenexpert.co.uk and we will arrange it.
Do you supply nurseries and schools?
We do, regularly. We offer invoicing and multi-unit orders for early-years settings. See our Nurseries and Schools page or email us for a quote.
What is the protective cover and do I need one?
A fitted, water-resistant cover made for each kitchen size (£79). It is the easiest way to keep the kitchen dry and clean over winter and between play sessions. You can add it with one click on any product page.
Where are your mud kitchens made?
Each one is handcrafted to order in a small European workshop from solid spruce, then checked and dispatched to you directly. Nothing is mass-produced.
