Short answer
We deliver handcrafted wooden mud kitchens across all of Greater London, free, by tracked pallet courier, fully assembled, within 7 to 14 days. For most London gardens the right choice is the 120 cm kitchen (£499) or the 120 cm with storage (£549), which also works on a patio, in a side return or on a large balcony with a dry mud mix. Kerbside delivery works fine on terraced streets; if your road has permit parking or a red route, tell us when you order and we brief the courier.
London is our most common delivery destination and the one with the most questions, nearly all of them about space. Here is the honest picture for the capital.
A mud kitchen in a London garden
The average London garden is the smallest of any UK city, and a lot of family homes have a patio, a side return or a balcony rather than a lawn. None of that rules a mud kitchen out. The 120 cm models take roughly the footprint of a garden bench, stand happily on paving, and the lift-out steel sinks mean water goes back down the drain rather than across the slabs. For balconies, a dry mix (wet play sand, oat mud or cocoa mud) does everything soil does and sweeps up afterwards. Our guide to mud kitchens in small gardens, patios and balconies was written with London squarely in mind.
London clay, and why it matters here
Much of London sits on heavy clay. That is good news and bad news: clay soil makes gloriously sticky mud pies, but a lawn on clay drains slowly, so a kitchen standing on grass will sit wet through winter. In London more than anywhere, put the kitchen on paving or gravel, or stand its feet on slabs. Clay also sets hard in summer, so keep a lidded tub of bagged peat-free topsoil beside the kitchen rather than digging the border.

For London nurseries and childminders
London has more nurseries than any other UK city and outdoor space at a premium in most of them. The 150 cm with storage cabinet is the setting favourite because it closes the messy area down in seconds, and two units at right angles turn a small yard into a proper outdoor kitchen for six to eight children. We invoice settings rather than requiring card payment. Details on our nurseries and schools page, and the free risk assessment template covers what inspectors ask about.
Frequently asked questions
Do you deliver mud kitchens in London?
Yes, to every borough, free, by tracked pallet courier, within 7 to 14 days. The kitchen arrives fully assembled kerbside. If your street has permit parking, a red route or restricted access, mention it when ordering and we brief the courier.
Which mud kitchen suits a small London garden?
The 120 cm kitchen for most, or the 120 cm with storage cabinet where the kitchen doubles as the garden’s toy cupboard. Both stand on paving, need about 1.2 by 1.5 metres including standing room, and the lift-out sinks keep water off the slabs.
Can I use a mud kitchen on a London balcony?
Yes, with a dry mix instead of soil: wet play sand, oat mud or cocoa mud. Put a boot tray under the sinks, empty the bowls indoors, and check the kitchen fits through the flat before ordering. Kerbside delivery for a flat means the building entrance.
